Topic of Discussion: Cyber Threat Landscape Overview

Speaker: Senior Director, Operations & Intelligence

Lillian Teng

Speaker Bio:

Lillian Teng is currently the Senior Director of Cyber Intelligence at Capital One. A graduate of Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service (Go Hoyas!), she joined the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) as a Cyber Special Agent in 2003, where she began tracking government backed cyber actors and served in both the Middle East and Asia. After leaving NCIS in 2011, she joined Booz Allen Hamilton and worked at the National Cyber Joint Investigative Task Force as well as the FBI’s Cyber Division Asia Cyber Operations Section. After over 10 years in US government service, Lillian decided to try her hand at private sector life and joined Yahoo as one of the first members and eventually leader of the Advanced Cyber Threats team, tracking government backed actors. She was subsequently promoted to Director of Threat Investigations, leading multiple teams protecting Yahoo users from malicious cyber adversaries.

Lillian is passionate about helping her community and is particularly involved in issues such as food insecurity, sustainability, and amplifying women and under-represented groups in STEM, specifically cybersecurity. She currently sits on the advisory board for a community non profit, So What Else, working at the intersection of food insecurity and youth enablement. Additionally, she is a mentor/champion for GirlSecurity, a non-profit specializing in preparing women and gender minority students for national security careers.

Lastly, in February 2022, Lillian was elected to the board for Leadership Education for Asia Pacifics (LEAP), an organization focused on leadership advancement for Asian and Pacific Islanders while helping to retain their values and their culture.
